A man, who was released from jail earlier this year, was arrested in connection with last month's killing of a man hailing from Haryana over a property dispute, police said Thursday.
The accused, Narendra Koli, has involvements in several murder cases and was arrested on April 16 following a tip-off that he would be visiting near Ritz Cinema, they said.
The deceased, identified as Harish, also has a criminal background. He allegedly encroached on one of the properties belonging to Koli in Haryana's Bhiwani when he was in judicial custody in another murder case, G Ram Gopal Naik, Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) said.
When Koli came out of Jail in January, he asked Harish to abandon the property but when he did not pay any heed to him, he, along with his associates Monu, Sonu, Sooraj, Raju and Manoj, hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Harish, the officer said.
Raju arranged the arms and ammunition and Manoj the vehicle used in the offence, he said.
Harish was killed on March 29 by Koli and his accomplices barring Manoj, he added.
Harish was killed after the accused hit his motorcycle with their car and when he fell down, they shot him dead, the DCP said.
