Prices of moong and moth rose by Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today largely on the back of pick-up in demand from retailers.
However, other pulses moved in a tight range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said apart from pick up in demand from retailers, restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in moong and moth prices.
In the national capital, moong and its dal chilka local moved up by Rs 200 each to Rs 7,200-7,900 and Rs 8,000-8,500 per quintal respectively.
Moong dal dhoya local and best quality were also enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 8,000-8,300 and Rs 8,800-8,900 per quintal respectively.
Moth also traded higher by Rs 200 at Rs 5,500-5,800 per quintal.
