"The morale of the our army is high and in any battle the Indian army would emerge victorious," the Chief of Army Staff said, while addressing the 'Presentation of the Standards' ceremony here.
Gen Singh today presented 'Standards' to the 84-Armoured Regiment and the 50-Armoured Regiment on behalf of President Pranab Mukherjee.
While congratulating the two regiments on the occasion, Gen Singh said, "Not only the army but the entire country is proud of you. Your responsibilities have increased manifolds after you were presented with the Standards today, as expectations from you have increased."
Raised in 1976 and 1987 respectively, the 84-Armoured Regiment and the 50-Armoured Regiment are the front line regiments of the Indian Armoured corps that have participated in large number of operations.

He said 'Standards', 'Guidons' and 'Colours' are presented to the army units on approval of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces (the President), in recognition of the meritorious services rendered on the battlefield and off it.
