The expert criticism over Delhi's first bus rapid transit corridor notwithstanding, Dikshit said around "85 per cent" of the people who are bus passengers were "happy" and favour the transit facility.

"The Government will commission new BRT routes keeping in view its experiences," Dikshit said on the sidelines of a function to inaugurate a Bhagidari workshop.

Diskhit also said that her government was striving hard to overcome the shortage of drinking water in Delhi, and stressed that the state needs to find out a way "to end our dependence on other States for drinking water".

She cited a pilot project for recycling water being commissioned with Singapore's help as part of the government's efforts to find a way out of the water crisis.

She said if the project turns out to be successful, the government will commission 10-12 such recycling water projects that will go a long way in overcoming dependence on other States.

The Chief Minister said the Bhagidari initiative of participative governance has helped "bridge the gap between people and governance" as she inaugurated an eight-day workshop, the largest ever, in Delhi, to obtain feedback from people on the government's policies, programmes and schemes.
