More new jobs likely in coming six months, says survey
Press Trust of India New Delhi Indicating improved hiring activities, over 77 per cent of recruiters and consultants expect creation of new jobs in the coming six months, a survey released today said.
Job portal Naukri.Com's latest Hiring Outlook Survey showed that IT, ITeS, retail and BFSI are expected to emerge as top sectors for new employment opportunities.
"77 per cent recruiters expect new jobs to be created in the coming six-month period," it said.
The findings are based on responses from over 1,300 recruiters and consultants across more than 20 industries.
Around 51 per cent of the respondents anticipate that most new jobs would be at the middle management level.
Naukri.Com's Chief Sales Officer V Suresh said the job market continues to sustain the momentum gained in the first half of this year and is poised to head north. "More than 77 per cent of the respondents are optimistic of new job creation in the second half of 2016," he added.
About 51 per cent of those surveyed opined that new jobs would be created apart from replacement hiring in the next six months.
With regard to attrition level, 52 per cent expected it to remain at similar levels while 32 per cent were optimistic that attrition would come down compared to the first half of 2016.
Further, the report said respondents felt that prospects of better salaries (27 per cent), growth (18 per cent) and a desire to strike work-life balance (12 per cent ) remain the "biggest reasons behind switching of jobs".
