"Traffic signals are being installed at 34 specified places in the city by June 15," Superintendent of Police, Traffic Haseeb-ur-Rehman said.
Traffic signals have recently been installed at four busy intersections in Srinagar city.
Stating that the move of installing traffic signals has shown "best results" at ground level, the SP said as per traffic analyses 80 per cent people are following these signals.
Once the installation of traffic lights is completed, the violators would be penalised, the SP said.
"Fine will be realised from violators after two weeks of the completion of the work of installing traffic signals," he said.
He, however, urged people to strictly follow traffic signalling in the city to maintain hassle free traffic movement.
"Our cops always remain on roads to assist people to follow the newly introduced system," he said.
