In a statement today, the country's Interior Ministry said the cell's four members were led by one of the most visible militants on jihadist websites.
He was said to have been directed by leaders of al-Qaeda's North Africa affiliate to recruit Moroccans in anti-government attacks.
The statement said among those being recruited were Moroccans with links to al-Qaeda fighters in Syria.
Today's announcement brings the number of terror cells dismantled this year in Morocco to four, including two in May.
