The mortal remains of Meghalaya Assembly Speaker Donkupar Roy was on Wednesday laid to rest at his home constituency in Shella.
Roy was earlier given a state funeral with gun salute at Sohra in presence of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma, family members and followers.
He was elected for the seventh consecutive terms last year from the Shella constituency.
The former chief minister passed away on Sunday at a private hospital in Gurgaon following a brief illness. He was 64.
He is survived by wife R Synrem, two sons and four daughters.
