Mother and son shot dead over land dispute

A woman and her son were shot dead by a group of persons in a land dispute in Bihar's Begusarai district, police said today.
The incident took place last night at Bakhra village of the district and the woman's daughter managed to escape from being shot and reported the incident to the police.
Matihani Station House Officer (SHO) Sunil Kumar said the two, identified as Kiran Devi (55) and Murari Kumar (30) wre threashing wheat in their agricultural land last night when the woman's nephew Daulat Kumar came with a few persons and sprayed bullets at them.
Kiran Devi died on the spot, while Murari died this morning at a local hospital, he said.

The two sides had been involved in a long standing dispute over land and the woman's husband too was shot dead in December 2014 in the connection. Daulat's father Pankaj was arrested in connection with it and is presently lodged in jail.
Investigation is on in the case and raids are being conducted to net the culprits.
