"Two women have jumped into river chenab near village Kasi Patta in Reasi district," a senior police officer said.
Police has rushed to the spot and search is going on, he said, adding that two pairs of slippers have been found from the spot.
The women have been identified as Neemo Devi, wife of Gain Chand of Bharakh and Kiran Devi, wife of Amit Sharma of Dub Khalsa of Pouni, he said.
Police is probing the reasons of them taking the extreme step, he said, adding that till now, they have not been traced.
