A US national working with L&T Infotech, a global IT services and solutions provider, was attacked by three motorcycle borne robbers, in a failed bid to rob him at suburban Powai, the police said today.
"David Parish (51) was jogging at about 6.45 am today at Saki Vihar Road when they tried to snatch his bag," Yadavrao Jadhav, senior inspector at Powai police station told PTI.
One of the miscreants attacked the victim with a knife, causing him a minor injury when he resisted. The three accused, who were not wearing any masks, fled the spot, Jadhav said.
"David, who is working in a senior position at L&T Infotech, arrived here on Monday from Texas for some office job. He checked in Ramada Hotel," Jadhav said.
The accused were booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and attempts were being made to trace them, he said.
The police is verifying if the incident was recorded by any CCTV cameras installed around the area.
