The scheme for the use of Delhi Metro's smart card to travel in 200 Delhi Transport Corporation and 50 cluster buses is expected to commence from January 1, he said.
"A memorandum of understanding (MoU) involving the DTC, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the DMITS will be signed on December 26," the official said.
The Finance department of the Delhi government has given its approval for procurement of more secured access module (SAM) chips to be fitted with ticketing machines of cluster scheme buses, said a source.
"All the cluster buses are expected to come under the ambit of common mobility in next 2-3 months. The DTC too has been asked to make preparations for the same," said the source.

The common mobility will be facilitated through use of the SAM chip to be fitted with electronic ticketing machines (ETMs) used by bus conductors to issue paper tickets to the passengers.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation sources said over 70 per cent of its daily commuters who numbered over 27 lakh as per September 2017 data, used smart cards for travel.
