MP Agri marketing board employee caught while taking bribe

A sub-engineer with the MP State Agricultural Marketing Board (MPSAMB) was today allegedly caught red-handed while receiving a bribe of Rs 50,000 in Khargone district, the Lokayukta police said.
Sub-engineer Narendra Bagdare was caught while taking the bribe from a building contractor outside his office, Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Dilip Soni said.
MPSAMB owed Rs 18 lakh to the contractor for construction of buildings at Krishi Mandis, and Bagdare had demanded a 'cut' for clearing the payment, the police officer said.
"On the contractor's complaint, we laid a trap and caught the sub-engineer. He has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act," Soni said.
