The Madhya Pradesh Assembly would develop its own data centre under digitisation project at a cost of Rs 30 crore in next one year, an official said today.
"An amount of Rs 30 crore was approved for the digitisation of state Assembly's proceedings. A separate server and data centre would be set up for the state Assembly," a Public Relations official said.
This was decided yesterday by the empowered committee of the state's Information Technology department during a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary BP Singh, he said.
Under the project, the state Assembly's records would also be digitised in future.
Earlier last year, the state Assembly had started an online facility for the submission of questions by MLAs.
State Assembly's Principal Secretary AP Singh said that after initial hesitation, the interest of MLAs has grown in the online process of submitting questions.
"The Assembly Secretariat has received 2,682 questions online from the MLAs during the ongoing budget session. This is almost fifty per cent of the total questions submitted in this session," he said.
The process of submitting the questions online was started in July last year, he added.
