"The Budget has been designed for the welfare of farmers and the poor. This Budget will instill hope and confidence in the youth and also empower women," Chouhan said.
Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Jayant Malaiya presented a Rs 1,85,564.27-crore Budget with a revenue surplus of Rs 4596.40 crore.
Chouhan said the Budget also focuses on environment protection and river conservation. Adequate allocations have been made for education - be it at the level of school, university or medical education.
The Chief Minister said more than Rs 33,000 crore has been earmarked for the agriculture sector. "Overall, the Budget is historic, people-oriented and farmer-focused.
