MP church named after Italian girl who died of cancer

) A church in Sironj town of Madhya Pradesh has been named after Italy's Chiara Badano, a cancer patient who was beatified in 2010.
This is the first church in the world dedicated to Chiara, who lived in the village of Sassello in the Province of Savona in Italy and died as a teen.
"On September 25, the first Catholic church at Sironj in Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh was consecrated by me. It is the first church in the world dedicated to Blessed Chiara Badano, who was a cancer patient," Bishop Anthony Chirayath of Sagar told PTI today.
The Bishop said that he took special permission from Vatican to name the church after her as she was already "beatified and was in a process to attain sainthood."
The church was inaugurated by Chiara's parents Teresa and Ruggero Badano, who came from Italy along with friends and devotees from several countries in Europe and Asia.
Chiara who was born in 1971. A country girl from the village of Sassello in the Province of Savona in Italy, Chiara was born in 1971 and died in 1990.
She was beatified in 2010, two decades after her death.
The Bishop, who visited her place in 2010 and read her biography, decided to dedicate a church in her honour, saying he wanted young people to become like "little Chiara -- ever smiling, cheerful, sportive, singing and dancing, friendly and loving, kind and thoughtful of others, specially the poor and the sick.
