MP collects revenue of Rs 2,900 cr from minerals in FY 12/13

The Madhya Pradesh government has collected revenue of Rs 2,900 crore from minerals during 2012-13, marginally surpassing the target set for the year.
In a statement released here today, Mineral Resources Development Minister Rajendra Shukla said the government had set a target of Rs 2,800 crore for the year and the actual collection was 103.62 per cent of the target.
He said the quantum of revenue from minerals was increasing over the past few years and the revenue during 2009-10 was only Rs 1,590 crore.
Mineral revenue was received mainly from coal, lime, manganese-copper, bauxite, dolomite and minor minerals.
Maximum revenue worth Rs 1,167.57 crore was received from Singrauli district followed by Rs 471.68 crore from Anuppur district and Rs 139.11 crore from Chhindwara etc, he informed.
