Congress in Madhya Pradesh today announced a pact with Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP) for the Maihar Assembly bypoll and other polls to be held in the state.
"The pact with GGP will also continue in all other polls to be held in Madhya Pradesh," state Congress president Arun Yadav told reporters, in the presence of Madhya Pradesh GGP president Poonam Singh Bharve.
GGP will support Manish Patel as the joint candidate of Congress and GGP in the bypoll to be held on February 13, he said.
Bharve said his party has decided to join hands with Congress to strenghten secular forces in the country.
He said the pact with Congress was made after the approval of GGP national president Dada Hira Singh Markam.
