The meeting held yesterday saw two leaders making a pitch for projection of a CM candidate to take on BJP's Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
The meeting, at which the newly-appointed Congress general secretary Mohan Prakash was also present, saw state leaders projecting a picture of unity.
The overall atmosphere at the meeting was quite positive, one member said adding there has been a growing realisation that Congress should get back Madhya Pradesh which it had lost in 2003.
Several senior leaders were present at the meeting which included Digvijay Singh, Kamal Nath, Suresh Pachauri, PCC Chief Kantilal Bhuria, CLP leader Ajay Singh, Aslam Sher Khan, Satyavrat Chaturvedi and Inderjeet Patel.
Last month, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh had gave a thrust to Jyotiraditya Scindia's potential candidature as Chief Minister.
"I have no doubt in my mind that Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia is the front-runner for the post of the Chief Minister in Madhya Pradesh if the party wins this year's assembly elections," Singh, who had been Chief Minister for two terms, had said.
