Vikrant Bhuria has indicated his interest in entering the poll fray from tribal Thandla seat in Jhabua district.
"If the Congress thinks I am capable of contesting Assembly polls from Thandla, then I am ready to fight the elections," he said today.
Vikrant, a surgeon, has been running a private nursing home in Jhabua town, and his father represents Jhabua constituency in the Lok Sabha.
Thandla, a reserved seat for tribal community, is considered a stronghold of the Congress, which is out of power in the BJP-ruled State since 2003.
Vikrant said if Congress fields him from Thandla, he will raise the issues of tribal migration, malnutrition and health, among others, during campaigning.
He said he will also corner the BJP government on basic matters of power, road and water, among others.
