Devprakash Manjhi from Dabra topped the merit list of std 10th by scoring 587 out of 600 marks, while Sanyam Jain of Tikamgarh topped std 12th exam by scoring 485 out of 500.
As much as 72.38 per cent of girls cleared the std 12th exam, against 64.16 per cent boys. Overall passing percentage was 67.87 percent.
In std 10th examination, 51.43 per cent of girls passed against 48.53 per cent of boys. Overall passing percentage was 49.86.
For std 12th exam, 7,11,896 students appeared (1,68,548 of them 'private' candidates who were not regular students). As many as 11,07,521 students appeared for std 10th (3,13,467 of them private candidates).

As many as 2,04,738 students secured first division in std 10th, and 2,18,272 secured first division in std 12th.
In std 12th, 70.70 per cent students of government schools passed, while the percentage was 51.98 per cent in std 10th exam.
Chief Minister Chouhan said he was happy to see that students from smaller towns had performed better and the quality of education in the state was enhancing.
"The state government would pay the fees of std 12th students who have scored more than 75 per cent marks and who get admission to institutes of national repute," Chouhan said.
"Also, the students who have got more than 85 per cent marks in std 12th would be given laptops," he said.
NCERT syllabus will be introduced in state schools to improve the quality of education, he announced.
