The policy was endorsed by the Cabinet at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday, an official release said.
The policy envisages sensitisation on women's issues, eradication of gender discrimination, development of professional expertise and skills and make available employment to women among other issues.
Under the policy, all departments/organisations must effectively implement and monitor policies, programmes and schemes related to women, it said.
An action plan is being chalked out to evolve an effective system to implement them (policies) within a prescribed time-limit.

Gender sensitisation training will be imparted to create sensitivity towards women in departments implementing the policy. Efforts will be made to ensure participation of all stakeholders, families, local communities, NGOs, media and various departments in protection of women's interests, it said.
Priority has been attached in the Policy to women's safety, equality, respect and participation in development process.
For implementing the policy in accordance with its essence, government departments, media, social institutions, organisations, writers, litterateurs, intellectuals, Panchayati Raj institutions and public representatives should join hands and ensure their positive role so that objectives and positive results of Policy for Woman can be achieved, it added.
