Shaken by the plight of eight-year- old Abdul Qadir, who lost both his arms in an accident, Madhya Pradesh government announced here today that it would foot medical bills to provide him with prosthetic arms.
Abdul, along with his father Hussain Indori and mother Fatima, yesterday met Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary (CS) Antony DeSa, according to an official press release issued here.
Abdul's parents told DeSa that their son is keen on studying and they would need help to get prosthetic arms attached to him, the release said.
The CS promised that the state government would bear the entire medical expenditure of affixing electronic arms on Abdul.
Abdul had gone to his relative place during last year's summer vacation where he touched a high-tension electricity line while praying at the rooftop of one of their relatives' house at Barasia area near here.
He was rushed to hospital where the doctors decided to amputate his arms.
