Madhya Pradesh Revenue Minister Rampal Singh today told the state Assembly that encroachment by Adani Wilmar Limited on the government land in Shajapur district will be removed within two months.
Singh's assurance came during the Question Hour.
Arif Aqueel of Congress said that Adani Wilmar Limited had encroached upon the government land at Dehandi and Kisoni villages in Shujalpur tehsil of Shajapur district.
A competent authority had imposed a fine of Rs 1,500 on the company after finding it guilty of encroachment on May 6, 2011.
But even after more than four years, the encroachment hadn't been removed due to the political pressure, Aqueel alleged.
The Revenue Minister replied that the government was taking action to clear the encroachment.

However, Aqueel asked him to specify how long it will take, as the issue was not pending before any court.
Singh said it would be removed as soon as possible, but the Congress MLA pressed for specific time, so the Minister said that it would be removed within three months.
As Aqueel, a former minister himself, said that this time should be further shortened, the Minister announced that the encroachment would be removed within two months.
