Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said his government will welcome private sector in education field with "open arms".
"Our wish is that both government and the private sector should work hand-in-hand and flourish in education field," Chouhan said addressing an Education Summit organised by a leading English magazine at a hotel here.
He said they have taken a vow to turn Devi Ahilyabai University, Indore, into one of the top 10 global varsities.
"We want other universities of MP to figure in top 100 varsities of the world," he added.
Chouhan said his government has decided to foot the fees of the poor students studying in private colleges as the latter cannot provide free education to students.
He said the government will become a bank guarantor for parents who have borrowed loans for their wards for pursuing professional education.
Some parents do not have money even to become bank guarantors, he said.
The CM said the private foreign universities are also welcome in the state.
