In a bid to invite investment from Japan, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said a special industrial township will be developed for investors from that country at Pithampur in Dhar district.
"In a bid to provide a fillip to investment, we are working on a plan to raise a special industrial township at Pithampur," Chouhan told reporters after taking part in the Investment Promotion Seminar along with Japanese Ambassador to India, Kenji Hiramatsu and a visiting delegation of investors.
Japanese investors will be taken to an area spread over 500 acres earmarked for the proposed industrial township and apprised about facilities out there, the CM said.
Hardselling Madhya Pradesh as investment destination, Chouhan underlined that state has a huge land bank, 24 hours power supply, industrial peace among other facilities.
He said Japan has agreed to participate in state government's three-day global investors' meet to be held here from October 21.
"We are hopeful that participation of Japan in the meet will facilitate investment in MP from that country," Chouhan added.
Addressing the seminar, Chief Secretary Anthony DeSa said the construction of Japanese township will commence within six months.
He said the investors will be given various sops.
