MP Group bags contract to ply 100 smart buses in Noida

Transport service provider MP Group today said it has won a contract from Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) to run 100 smart buses on different routes.
"MP Group bags the contract for 100 smart buses from NMRC. The group's credibility as a transport services provider has been instrumental in winning them a 10-year contract from NMRC to ply buses within Noida and Greater Noida," the Pune based company said in a statement.
The bus network will traverse prominent areas with 13 different route plans.
The company said each bus will cost a crore while the total cost of the fleet is pegged at Rs 120 crores.
Commenting on the contract, Abhishek Pathak, Managing Director MP Group, said, "The buses will be procured by the MP Group whereas infrastructural support in the form of ticket revenue collection and more will be provided by the NMRC."
He said, "These hi-tech, low floor A/C models will be equipped with Intelligent Transport Management System which will connect to bus stops and facilitate information about real time availability through GPS and PIS technology."
