Addressing a function yesterday in Lahar town of Bhind district, the minister who is known to court controversies, described himself as "khadiwala safedposh goonda" to warn mining mafia and officials engaged in illegal activities.
The function was organised in the Lahar Government Hospital to launch the BJP government's ambitious Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's free medicine distribution scheme.
In a warning to the mining mafia and officials he said that from now onwards only his writ would run here and not that of the sand mafia or officials.
Earlier, his supporters had also fired in the air to welcome him, on his arrival in Lahar.
Taking the statement seriously, Congress MLA from Lahar, Govind Singh petitioned Governor Ram Naresh Yadav demanding his dismissal from cabinet for violating the oath of office and secrecy, as he openly threatened people.
"The act of the minister is against democratic traditions of the state and violation of the oath of office and secrecy. Not just that, his supporters openly fired in the air, which is illegal," the MLA said in a statement.
Mishra was re-inducted into the Madhya Pradesh cabinet sometime ago. Earlier, he was asked to resign from the ministry after the alleged involvement of his kin in a murder case, in which they were acquitted by the court.
