MP: Penalty of over Rs 6 cr imposed on pan masala traders
Press Trust of India Bhopal Madhya Pradesh Commercial Taxes Department has imposed a penalty of over Rs 6 crore on traders of pan masala after detecting irregularities in their accounts in recent raids.
"The raids were conducted on traders of pan masala recently and a fine of Rs 5.49 crore was imposed on RS Kaipan Pan Masala Private Limited, Bhopal, on detection of irregularities. A fine of Rs 9 lakh was imposed and recovered from Shubham Mouth Freshner, Bhopal, on detection of irregularities," an official release said today.
Similarly, Shivam Trader Biaora deposited Rs 7.85 lakh towards fine and tax after detection of irregularities following raids, the release said.
"The officers also raided Lucky Enterprises, Ashok Nagar and recovered fine and tax worth Rs 6.35 lakh from it. Similarly, fine and tax worth Rs 15.14 lakh was recovered from Unnati Enterprises, Gwalior, on account of irregularities and Rs 5.5 lakh was deposited by Anand Namkeen, Nasrullahganj, after detection of irregularities. Kumar Agency, Chhatarpur, also deposited Rs 9.72 lakh fine and tax after the raid," the release said.
