"Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has issued directives to hold a survey on crime tendencies due to liquor addiction, in reference to Bihar, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh," said a public relations department official today while informing about the yesterday's high level meeting of police officials with the chief minister.
"Chouhan said that stern decisions would be taken after the study," the official added.
He informed that the chief minister held this meeting to inform the police officials about the priorities of the state government during 2017.
Earlier during ongoing 'Namami Devi Narmade - Seva Yatra,' Chouhan had announced to close liquor shops from the next financial year in towns and villages on the banks of river Narmada.
The state government in co-operation with the citizens is holding this 'Yatra' for creating awareness about the conservation of river Narmada.
