MPCC denies Kamalanagar district cration proposal

The ruling Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee today denied that there was a proposal to create Kamalanagar District in south Mizoram's Chawngte area comprising the Chakma Autonomous District Council as alleged by the opposition parties and student organisations.
In a press statement issued here, the MPCC said that the state government did not have any knowledge about such proposal termed it as baseless.
"The state government constituted a District Re-organisation Committee chaired by the chief secretary which is yet to make any suggestions or proposals," the statement said.
