"I am surprised that they should raise such an issue. NCP has so far not asked for or informed that a co-ordination committee meeting be convened to discus any issue. Leaders of two parties often meet to deliberate on urgent matters," MPCC president Manikrao Thakre told PTI.

Earlier, while talking to reporters, NCP state unit President Madhukar Pichad criticised Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan saying he had no time to meet NCP legislators.

"I had given a letter to Chavan to convene a meeting to discuss the drought situation but got no reply," he said.

When asked about it, Thakre said the party had got no letter. "I will check with the Chief Minister," he added.

Earlier in the day, NCP leader and Union Heavy industries minister Praful Patel said the state NCP leaders had told Sharad Pawar that there was lack of co-ordination between the two parties and it was affecting functioning of the government.

"The mechanism of co-ordination committee meetings which was put in place earlier should be reinstated," Patel said.
