"UPA has given a very credible candidate in Pranab Mukherjee and his nomination has received good response from across political parties. Shiv Sena is one of them. We thank the party for extending support to Mukherjee," MPCC president Manikrao Thakre told reporters here.
He said Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray called him yesterday to inform him about the Sena's support to Mukherjee.
Thakre said Shiv Sena's support to Mukherjee should not be seen in political context.
