On-demand home service company Mr Homecare, a subsidiary of facility management firm SILA, is planning to raise up to Rs 20 crore in the next 12 months to expand its presence in six cities.
SILA, an Indian start-up firm, recently entered the on-demand home care services market by raising Rs 4 crore with investments from Piramal Realty Executive Director Anand Piramal as well as from a group of financial investors.
"The on-demand services market in India is growing at a rapid pace and is largely unorganised at the moment. Being an established player in the facilities management business, we see an immense business opportunity in this space as well.
"Our vision is to be an extension of each home, with the philosophy that 'Your Home is Our Care'," SILA Founder Sahil Vora told PTI here.
The company has already started with deep cleaning and pest control services in Mumbai and will extend it to cities like Bangalore, Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai in the next 12 months and plans to raise up to Rs 20 crore for the expansion.
"Initially, we will be using the Rs 4 crore raised in building a strong marketing network, technology and for paying employees. We will further raise up to Rs 20 crore for expanding in newer markets as well as adding more services," he said.
He said the company was in talks with a few venture capitalists as well as financial investors for raising funds.
According to Vora, most houses spend on average of Rs 20,000 per year on household repairs, cleaning, plumbling, etc and this is the segment Homecare is targeting.
Homecare is an online platform for users to book home services such as pest controlling, deep cleaning, washing of cars, installation of an air conditioner, plumbing, electrical fixing, among others.
