The film has already made the cut to Brooklyn Film Festival and Dutt, who has co-conceptualised the story along with James, says they are planning to take their project to Rain Dance Film Festival, Hong Kong International Film Festival, Berlin Short Film Festival and Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA).
"Our film has already been selected for Brooklyn Film Festival. In rest of the festivals it has been sent in the international film competition section. We want to send the films to festivals as it gives us an opportunity to get buyers. Also Indian distributors get interested when a film has done well in the festival circuit," Mrinal told PTI.
Mrinal, 28, feels the market for short film is expanding rapidly in India, thanks to the success of Manoj Bajpayee-starrer "Taandav", "Ahalya" and others.
"I think the short film market in India is opening up. We we are seeing so many short films doing so well like 'Taandav', 'Ahalya' among others."

Besides his TV projects "Private Investigator" and "Yeh Hai Aashiqui", the actor has been part of a couple of Telegu films but he ultimately wants to try his luck in Bollywood and says the short film is his first step in that direction.
Mrinal has also signed an Indi-Australian indie film.
