MSCI India Index entrants in limelight; gain up to 8%

Shares of eight companies, including Bharti Infratel, Marico and Lupin saw huge buying interest, surging up to 8 per cent, following their addition to the MSCI India Index from today.
Bharti Infratel zoomed 8.15 per cent, while Marico soared 7.14 per cent on the BSE.
Among others, Container Corporation of India gained 6.54 per cent and UPL surged 6.33 per cent.
Shares of Lupin climbed 4.94 per cent, Eicher Motors went up by 4.12 per cent, Bharat Forge (1.76 per cent) and Shree Cement (0.86 per cent).
Reliance Infra's stock, however, declined by 1.76 per cent on its exclusion from the index.
Global indexing and analytics giant MSCI Inc has indices for key markets, along with certain global, regional and theme-based indices.
There are, at present, 64 stocks in MSCI India index, including Infosys, HDFC, TCS, RIL, Sun Pharma and ITC.
