The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state transport department for setting up the institute, MSI said in a statement.
The IDTR would be set up in 15 acres of land and the project cost has been pegged at Rs 17 crore.
As per the pact, Chattisgarh government will provide the land and infrastructure for the project, while MSI will manage and run the facility.
Besides, the carmaker will also provide training equipment - vehicles and simulators - and skilled trainers.
The main objective of the IDTR will be to promote road safety in Chhattisgarh through awareness, education, and training amongst road users.
