"Our latest initiative 'Offer Ka Sikander' has been designed to not only provide enhanced value to our voice customers but also create revenue generating opportunities for our retailers on all subsequent recharges done by the customer," MTS India's Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, Leonid Musatov, said in a statement.
Under the MTS scheme, new customers will get some amount of free talktime of up to Rs 40 against payment of Re 1 or Rs 2 at the time of purchasing a connection. After this, they will get full talktime on recharges starting at Rs 30 and in multiples of 10 above that level for one year.
The offer is valid for one year from the time of taking a new connection.
The company is offering per-second billing in some circles, per-minute billing in others and offering a combination of both in some circles.

An MTS spokesperson said customers will automatically be shifted to per-second billing after one year.
The company reported revenue of Rs 318.8 crore in the first quarter of 2014, of which voice calling service accounted for about 65 per cent.
