"As my character Nayanika epitomises women's power in Mukti, which puts under scanner frustrations, silent cries and resolve of a teacher faced with a stubborn society, we thought it prudent to release the film on the eve of Bengal's biggest festival, when the multi-tasker Durga is worshiipped in every locality," the Alik Sukh actor told PTI here.
"With shameful accounts of tortures, molestation of women reported from different parts of country, let us pray such things come to halt, let every woman gather inner strength to face the demon like Maa Durga," Rituparna (Sengupta) said.
Rituparna, the Brand Ambassador of a prominent South Kolkata puja Suhrid Sangha, said "Durga embodies a different sort of Women's power. The power to do good and makes everybody blessed and cared for who come to pray."
Rituparna, who has also been made the Brand Ambassador of a Mumbai puja, said she felt proud, powerful innwardly and a true multi-tasker being a woman."
Mukti , directed by Reshmi Mitra having made a slew of masala romance flicks, also stars Rajdeep besides Shilajit.
