Multi-lingual music composer Jayaprakash gets Fellowship

Noted multi-lingual music composer N Jayaprakash, popularly known as 'Poornathrayee' Jayaprakash, has been selected for the Fellowship of the Union Culture Ministry for the year 2011-12.
Jayaprakash has composed over 400 krithis, a majority of them in Sanskrit and mostly on Lord Poornathrayeea, the diety of famous Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple at Tripunithura in Ernakulam district.
Eminent musicians now render most of his krithis during music concerts.
Jayaprakash, a native of Tripunithara, told PTI the Fellowship has been sanctioned for Sanskrit literature given under the outstanding artist category.
"I am very happy to get the Fellowship and it will be an added encouragement for me to excel in my field," he said.
