Sources said that it was at around 7 P.M. On May 2 when a Nagpur resident, identified as one Ram Niketan, complained to CISF officials at the domestic terminal of IGIA that his I-phone had been stolen from the check-in counter at the terminal just as he was to catch a flight to his hometown.
He said that the phone cost Rs 82,000.
CISF officials, sources said, immediately swung into action and found from CCTV footage that the complaint was true and a person had indeed picked up the phone and boarded a flight to Hyderabad which was leaving around the same time as the Nagpur one.
"The said phone was recovered from the suspect, who is a resident of Crystal Garden area in Hyderabad and works in a private multi-national bank.
"He was later sent on a flight to Delhi as IGIA police had registered an FIR in the case on the basis of the complaint made by the Nagpur resident," the sources said.
IGIA police later placed him under arrest and he was booked under relevant sections of IPC before being granted bail yesterday, they added.
