Mumbai Press Club to give away 'Golden Ouch' awards
Press Trust of India Mumbai The Mumbai Press Club announced here today that it would present ten "prestigious" awards for the craziest moments in Indian media at a function anchored by stand-up comedian Anuvab Pal here on April 20.
The evening of good humoured satire would be a prelude to the more serious RedInk Awards in various categories which celebrate the finest in Indian journalism, according to a release issued here.
The Mumbai Press Club has been flooded with 'tongue-in-cheek' nominations from all over India, in ten different categories which cover a wide range of subjects from 'Gender Equality' to 'Science Reporting' to 'Food Criticism' to name a few, the release said.
The star-studded galaxy of contenders range from senior politicians like Sharad Yadav and Rahul Gandhi to former Army chief-turned politician V K Singh and also popular author Shobhaa De for the 'Ouchies' as the new awards are being referred to.
