"When the Mumbai University had planned to confer him D.Litt in the 90s, I was with ABVP and we had opposed the move. After reading the biography, I realised that we did make a mistake," Shelar said at the function held to release of a biography of Dange.
"I want to correct the past mistake; hence I wrote a letter to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Mumbai University vice-chancellor Sanjay Deshmukh to confer D.Litt on Dange," said Shelar.
The biography is written by Rosa Deshpande, daughter of Dange.
