Mumbaikars among 4 arrested with cannabis in J-K

Police has arrested four people, including two from Mumbai, after allegedly recovering 36 kg of cannabis from their possession in separate incidents in Samba and Jammu districts of Jammu and Kashmir today.
On an information about narcotic smuggling, a surprise checkpoint was setup at Mansar Morh on the highway in Samba district and search conducted on all vehicles coming from Srinagar this evening, a police officer said.
Soon police intercepted a truck, which was on way from Srinagar to Dehli and recovered 23 kg charas from the driver truck, Manzoor Ahmed Ganai, of Pulwama district, and nine kg cannabis was recovered from the conductor, Shenaz Ahmed Ganai, the official said.
A total 32 kg cannabis was recovered, he said adding that the contraband consignment along with truck was seized and both the accused were arrested on spot.
In another case, police officials intercepted two pedestrians at General bus stand in Jammu and recovered four kg cannabis from their possession, the police official said.
Both the accused belong to Mumbai, the officer said.
Police have registered a case in both the matters.
