Investigations conducted with the assistance of the cyber cell of the Kerala police helped them apprehend the accused, they added.
Police said the accused tried to escape in a two-wheeler, which was stolen from Theni in Tamil Nadu, when they reached Kaloor bus stand area to arrest him.
Veerakumar would be handed over to the Tamil Nadu police later today after the completion of all formalities, they added.
