Police claimed to have foiled a murder conspiracy today by arresting two people, including a former CPI-ML Janashakthi party member, from Trimulgherry here.
Sleuths of the Commissioner's Task Force North Zone nabbed M Guruvaiah and K Narasimha Reddy for allegedly conspiring to murder the realtor on an offer of Rs 5 lakhs, police said.
Elaborating on the motive behind the murder conspiracy, the police said one Chandrasekhar of Sainikpuri had a dispute with Bujji, the realtor, over 3,000 square yards of land at R K Puram and allegedly paid the amount to Reddy and Guruvaiah to eliminate him.
To execute the plan, Guruvaiah brought two firearms, one sword and a sickle from his village. These were recovered from the possession of the accused after the arrests were made.
The duo were in search of Bujji and were waiting for an opportunity to kill him. However, as he was out of station, they could not execute their plan, the police said.
Guruvaiah alias Somaiah, who had joined CPI-ML Janashakthi party and worked as a "deputy commander" in Kurnool district, was arrested by the Khammam Police in 2005, police said, adding that he was allegedly involved in two murder and ten extortion cases in Nalgonda district.
After Guruvaiah was acquitted, he became a watchman at OU Colony at Sainikpuri here.
Reddy had worked as the district secretary of the Progressive Youth Federation (PYF) affiliated to the party, for about two years, they said.
