With the arrest of Janaki and her brother-in-law Vinod, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police today claimed to have solved the murder case of a local Communist Party leader Ramcharan Ram, a resident of Bawana Area.
Ram was missing for the past six months and his skeleton and other remains were found in a gunny bag from a pit in Bawana here. The accused had murdered Ram by smothering him with a pillow in his house.
Police said during interrogation, it was revealed that Janaki had killed Ram over a property dispute.
She told the investigators that Ram had sold a house and out of that money he had purchased another property and was spending the remaining money over a woman, with whom he was allegedly having an illicit relation.
In December 2012, when she came to know that Ram was planning to transfer his property in the name of another woman, she discussed it with her brother-in-laws who made a plan to kill him, he said.
