"The one-day Kul-Hind Musharia festival at Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre in Srinagar would be held on November 19 to attract tourists to the state during winter," Minister for Tourism Ghulam Ahmad Mir said today.
The mushaira would be held for the first time in Srinagar, in which eminent poets and writers of the country, besides reputed poets of the state are participating, Mir said.
Over 25 poets would participate in the festival, including eminent poets like Rahat Indoori, Munawar Rana, Waseem Baralevi, P S Betaab, Farooq Nazki, Jalees Sheerwani and Rukhsana Jabeen, he said.
"Steps have to be taken to encourage and promote conventional tourism. Besides, skiing, river rafting, mountaineering, mountain biking and other adventure tourism need to be properly showcased and encouraged in the state," he said.
