Locals informed the Wildlife authorities about the presence of the fawn in their area after which the animal was taken to veterinary hospital for treatment, officials said.
The fawn bore injury marks apparently due to dog bites, the officials said.
It was not immediately known as to how the animal had reached the heart of the city as Musk deer is generally found in Dachigam National Park, upper reaches of Sonamarg and the Zabarwan hills, they said.
