A delegation comprising Dr Shafewwque Ahmed, Moulana Shafiqurr Rahman and Ashfaque Yusuf Shaikh who represent these associations, submitted a memorandum seeking ban at Mumbra police station.
"This film ('Ya Rab') consists of objectionable scenes which will hurt religious sentiments of Muslims and disturb the communal harmony," the memorandum said.
The film shows battle between two ideologies and the punch line of the film reads "Jihaad against terrorism", apparently an attempt to show true face of tolerant Islam to the world.
In one of the scenes it shows that terrorism is being taught in madrasas, which is absolutely wrong and baseless," the memorandum said.
The organisations also alleged that the motive behind the addition of these scenes in the film is to "instigate" Muslims to retaliation. "....Another ulterior motive is to make police machinery keep a close and secret watch on madrasas", the document said.
The organisations also stated they would resort to legal route to stop the release of the movie, slated for February 7 but did not elaborate on the course of action.
